How I view Therapy

Context matters.

From the very start, our experiences—both direct and indirect—shape what we expect, how we see ourselves, and the way we connect with others. Along the way, you may have learned not to say no, to see your own needs as selfish, or to believe that anything short of perfection means failure. These messages often get reinforced through repetition or a powerful moment, until they crystalize into what feels like “the truth.”

If reading that makes you think, “Well great, then I guess I’m stuck this way,” take a breath—because that’s not the end of the story.

The reality is, our brains and bodies are always learning. With every new experience, we have a chance to rewrite old assumptions. When you step into a situation expecting rejection or failure but are met instead with acceptance or success, it shifts your outlook. Psychotherapists call that a corrective emotional experience—and part of my role is to help create the conditions where those moments can happen.

How do I help?

  • Examining the way your mind automatically interprets experiences

  • Looking at recurring patterns

  • Building tools to handle difficult emotions and moments of stress

  • Clarifying the personal meaning behind your goals and why change matters to you
